Julia Zuurbier (1995) started her professional dance education at the age of 11 at the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam. After graduation, she danced for three years as a full-time dancer at De Dutch Junior Dance Division in The Hague, were she performed (neo)classical and contemporary work in big productions in theaters throughout the country, but also in smaller performances on various locations, such as beaches, parks, churches.

She worked with different choreographers a.o. Thom Stuart, Rinus Sprong, Ed Wubbe and Ton Simons. Aside from dancing, Julia has been choreographing in professional settings, as well as for private ballet schools. She has also been working as a freelance dance teacher since 2011, obtaining her first teaching diplomas in 2014.

Besides her great passion for dance, Julia likes to expand her academic knowledge. She successfully finished the first year of her study Language and Communication at the University of Amsterdam and gained a diploma in Cultural Psychology and Social Psychology at the Open University.

Currently, Julia is a freelance dancer, working with Pop-up Dance and De Dutch Don't Dance Division. She works as a freelance dance teacher for various private ballet schools. For more specific information, check out the dancer and teacher pages.
